Anxiety
We all know that familiar feeling of anxiety.
When we struggle to sleep as we are worrying about things. Carrying around that feeling of being out of control in certain situations. Making our daily tasks feel like huge challenges that seem difficult to face. When this happens, it feels like it's impossible to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Lots of things can make us feel anxious, ranging from minor issues to major hurdles… sometimes even the minor issues can feel like major hurdles. We call this anticipatory anxiety, where we anticipate something bad is going to happen even though it may not necessarily happen. You know that familiar feeling, when your mouth goes dry, your heart starts racing and you feel sweaty. This is not good for us in the long term and leaves us feeling exhausted and drained. The more we think and brood about that ‘something’ the bigger it seems to become.
When you are in this place it can be hard to keep perspective.

A great tip is to help you maintain perspective when you are faced with a situation like this is to ask yourself:
Is any real harm being done? No.
Has anyone been hurt? No.
Is anyone or yourself in any real danger? No.
When you answer NO to each of these questions you’ll see that your anxiety is not real-time is anticipatory. This means you are unwittingly creating and maintaining it.
The good news is, anticipatory anxiety can be overcome easily with hypnotherapy and cognitive therapy. If you’d like to find out more about how you can overcome your anxiety with hypnotherapy and cognitive therapy book a free consultation with me, press the button below!
